What is a DTF Printer?
A DTF (Direct-to-Film) printer is a type of printer used for transferring designs onto fabrics and other materials. It prints designs onto a special film, which is then coated with a powder adhesive, heated, and transferred to fabric using a heat press.
How DTF Printing Works
- Print the Design – A specialized DTF printer prints the design onto a PET film using CMYK and white ink.
- Apply Adhesive Powder – A hot-melt adhesive powder is spread over the printed design.
- Curing Process – The film with adhesive is heated to partially cure the powder.
- Heat Transfer – The film is placed onto fabric and heat-pressed at high temperatures.
- Peel & Finish – Once cooled, the film is peeled away, leaving a vibrant, durable print.
